ASC
engineers specialize in the development and application of numerical
simulation methods. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) techniques have
been used to solve a wide variety of engineering problems involving
flow, heat transfer, and chemical reaction.
There's an old adage which says that "if you only have a hammer, all
problems start to look like a nail". At ASC, we strive to keep a wide
array of tools in our toolbox to solve all problems in the most effective
and efficient way. Even within our use of CFD, ASC uses a variety of tools,
including two powerful 3D Navier-Stokes solvers, a potential flow solver,
a 1D Network solver, and boundary layer and separation techniques.
ASC has the ability to make back-of-the-envelope estimations quickly, and to
provide in-depth analysis of a complex fluid flow, including detailed flow
characteristics (velocity, pressure, turbulence, temperature, species
concentration) for internal or external flows. We have a large range of
capabilities including gas, air, liquid, and multiphase flow, particle
tracking, evaporation, combustion, convection, conduction, and radiation heat
transfer.
