Furnaces and Boilers

Understanding the combustion patterns in a furnace can help plants make important decisions regarding burners, overfire, air, SNCR, and other capital investments.

  • CFD modeling is a well-validated tool for furnace simulations, and can be used for what-if studies of both equipment or fuel changes.
  • HVT (High Velocity Thermocouple) testing is used to measure temperature, NOx, O2, CO, and other species at the furnace outlet.
  • Boiler inlealkage testing is an important diagnostic tool that can result in significant heat rate improvements.
