Flow Relative Accuracy Test Audits (Flow RATA)
Relative Accuracy Test Audits
(RATA) compares data from a
facility's Continuous Emissions Monitor System (CEMS) to a
simultaneously collected reference method test
data in order to assess the accuracy of the CEMS readings. CEMS
permanently installed
for selected processes, such as on power plant stacks, require initial
and periodic quality assurance
audit tests to ensure that they are functioning properly and reporting
emissions accurately. RATA testing involves two parts - a flow
component and a pollutant component.ASC is capable of performing flow RATA using the highest-quality 1-D, 2-D, and 3-D test methods to prevent the over-reporting of flow in the presence of swirl. Since the flow rate is multiplied by each of the pollutant concentrations measured, even a small inaccuracy can have large financial implications.
ASC's RATA Testing
- high-quality flow RATA for flue gas,
- fully compliant with the 40 CFR Part 60 Appendix B requirements,
- precision equipment to prevent over-reporting in the presence of swirl,
- expertise to address any issues encountered during the audits.
