CFD Flow Modeling - Computational Fluid Dynamics

Collage of CFD flow modeling results ASC engineers specialize in the development and application of numerical simulation methods. CFD flow modeling (Computational Fluid Dynamics) techniques have been used to solve a wide variety of engineering problems involving flow, heat transfer, and chemical reaction.

There's an old adage which says that "if you only have a hammer, all problems start to look like a nail". At ASC, we strive to keep a wide array of tools in our toolbox to solve all problems in the most effective and efficient way. Even within our use of CFD, ASC uses a variety of tools, including two powerful 3D Navier-Stokes solvers, a potential flow solver, a 1D Network solver, and boundary layer and separation techniques.

Using CFD flow modeling ASC has the ability to make back-of-the-envelope estimations quickly, and to provide in-depth analysis of a complex fluid flow, including detailed flow characteristics (velocity, pressure, turbulence, temperature, species concentration) for internal or external flows. We have a large range of capabilities including gas, air, liquid, and multiphase flow, particle tracking, evaporation, combustion, convection, conduction, and radiation heat transfer.
