Engineering Marketing Specialist

Airflow Sciences Corporation is a Livonia-based engineering firm seeking a motivated individual with a technical background to be our key marketing person. Both full time (30-40 hrs/wk) and part-time (20-30 hrs/wk) candidates will be considered. Normal office hours are M-F 8am-5pm.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate trade show events
  • Produce and mail brochures, advertisements, newsletters, graphics, and other print items
  • Website management, compile and summarize web activity statistics
  • Social media campaigns
  • Assist our website design staff with website updates and search engine optimization
  • Graphics design, creating brochures
  • Technical writing, editing company newsletter
  • Update and maintain company customer database
  • Maintain customer relations with corporate gifts/cards

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and/or experience:

  • Computer skills with focus on
    • Graphics design (Inkscape / Adobe / Affinity / Gimp / etc.)
    • Office software (MS Office / Open-Office) including documents and spreadsheets
    • Web research
  • Good organization skills, ability to work on multiple tasks
  • Attention to detail and time schedules
  • Proficient telephone and verbal skills
  • Comfort and confidence speaking with prospects, vendors, and customers (“A people person”)
  • College coursework and/or degree in a STEM field is preferred, including STEM re-entry / returnship candidates

 


 

Shop Assistant / Technician (Full time, entry level)

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Organization / inventory of shop and lab supplies
  • Maintenance of laboratory, office, and test equipment
  • General handy-man type repairs
  • Assist with laboratory experiments.
  • Involvement in testing at client sites
    • Prepare equipment for test trips
    • Travel and assist with field testing

Job Requirements

Candidates will have the following skills, and a desire to learn more:

  • Strong work ethic
  • Fast learner
  • Well-organized
  • Good driving record
  • Basic experience with hand tools (saws, drills, etc.)

The following skills are beneficial:

  • Basic home or office maintenance
    (electrical/wiring, plumbing, carpentry, etc.)
  • Experience with basic shop equipment
    (table saw, drill press, band saw, etc.)
  • Forklift and/or order picker operations

 


 

Fluids Research and Testing Engineer (Full time)

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support to solve fluid flow problems in a variety of industries, including Power Generation, Automotive, Food Processing, and Manufacturing.
  • Time will be split between numerical simulation, testing of physical models, and on-site testing.

Job Requirements

  • A degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with specialization in the fields of fluid dynamics and heat transfer.
  • Experience in the one or more of the following areas preferred:
    • CFD modeling/analysis
    • Flow measurement techniques
    • Data analysis
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A high degree of self motivation
