Flow Rata

Relative Accuracy Test Audits (RATA) compares data from a facility's Continuous Emissions Monitor System (CEMS) to a simultaneously collected reference method test data in order to assess the accuracy of the CEMS readings. CEMS permanently installed for selected processes, such as on power plant stacks, require initial and periodic quality assurance audit tests to ensure that they are functioning properly and reporting emissions accurately. RATA testing involves two parts - a flow component and a pollutant component.

ASC is capable of performing flow RATA using the highest-quality EPA test methods with the state-of-the art Multiple Automated Probe (MAP™) System. Since the flow rate is multiplied by each of the pollutant concentrations measured, even a small inaccuracy can have large financial implications.

Airflow Science's RATA Testing:

  • High-quality flow RATA for flue gas,
  • Fully compliant with the 40 CFR Part 60 Appendix B requirements,
  • Precision equipment to prevent over-reporting in the presence of swirl,
  • Expertise to address any issues encountered during the audits.
