Tube Banks
Tube banks are often found in boilers for steam generation, and also air-to-air heat exchangers, Waste Heat Recovery Units (WHRU), and Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG). The flow distribution through these tubes plays a critical role in heat transfer, pluggage potential, and particulate erosion (when ash is present). Flow modeling and testing are excellent engineering tools to diagnose and resolve flow problems in tube banks.
